Vrijdag 4 november om 12:15 een nieuwe afspraak bij de hematoloog in het UMCU. Vooraf bloed laten prikken zodat tijdens het spreekuur gekeken kan worden hoe snel de achteruitgang van mijn bloed gaat. Er zijn nu 3 metingen in 4 weken. Gelukkig blijkt, mede omdat ik het heel rustig aan doe, dat mijn Hb waarde niet snel daalt. Omdat een bloedtransfusie ook voor vele complicaties kan zorgen, en omdat ik nog boven de grenswaarde hiervoor zit, gaat dat voorlopig niet door. Over 3 weken terugkomen voor een controle en dan vooraf weer bloed laten prikken. Nadrukkelijk te horen gekregen dat als er iets niet goed gaat ik direct moet bellen. 
De transplantatieprocedure verder doorgenomen. Dinsdag gaat mijn broer bloed laten prikken. De uitslag is dan over 2 a 2,5 week binnen. Als hij donor kan zijn (25% kans) belt het ziekenhuis hem en mag hij het mij vertellen, anders belt het ziekenhuis mij direct. In dat laatste geval wordt er dan gezocht naar een donor uit de Europese donorbank. Wat is het toch knap allemaal. De daadwerkelijke transplantatie zal wel in januari/februari plaatsvinden.
Ben lid geworden van een patientenvereniging voor patienten met myelofibrose. Vandaag met de post veel documentatie gekregen. Daarbij zat ook een uitgebreid verslag van een patient met myelofibrose (MF) die een paar jaar geleden een transplantatie heeft ondergaan. Zeer onder de indruk van wat me te wachten staat. Wow, dat is toch wel heftig allemaal.


We hebben ons opgegeven voor een bijeenkomst morgen in Nijkerk van de contactgroep stamceltransplantatie. Vroeg naar bed dus om uitgerust daar naar toe te gaan.
