Intensive Care
Gisteravond (woensdagavond) ging Dolf razendsnel achteruit. De hartslag liep op tot 230 slagen per minuut, hoge koorts, lage bloeddruk (87/38) en ernstige benauwdheid. Daarnaast had hij last van hartritmestoornissen.
Om 1.30 uur is hij met spoed naar de Intensive Care overgebracht. Hij ligt nu aan de beademing.
Vannacht is ook het hart “gereset”. D.m.v. een elektrische prikkel (cardio versie) is het verkeerde ritme weer in orde gekregen.
Midden in de nacht stonden de kinderen en ik weer op de Intensive Care, net als ruim 2 jaar geleden.
In een gesprek met de intensivist is verteld dat er een beademingsbuis en een maagsonde ingebracht zijn. Gelukkig zijn hierbij geen bloedingen ontstaan. De hoge koorts heeft de hartproblemen veroorzaakt. Er wordt nog driftig gezocht waar de koorts vandaan kan komen.
Beademing
Dolf`s lichaam wordt nu ondersteund door de beademingsapparatuur. Daarnaast worden veel (hart) medicijnen gegeven. Er wordt versneld met behulp van een hartpompje vocht toegevoegd, om de bloeddruk omhoog te krijgen. Moeilijke afweging: achter de longen zit al vocht. Daarvoor is extra vocht niet goed, maar voor de bloeddruk is extra vocht juist nodig.
Dolf`s ademhaling werkt de beademing tegen. Het beste zou zijn als de beademingsapparatuur het helemaal over zou kunnen nemen. Daarvoor moet Dolf echter diep in slaap zijn, maar dat kan weer niet, omdat die medicijnen niet goed zijn bij deze hartproblemen.
Verbetering
Gelukkig gaat het langzaam maar zeker de goede kant op. Aan het eind van de middag zijn de metingen als volgt: polsslag 66, bloeddruk 93/54, temperatuur 35,7 graden.
Een transfusie met bloedplaatjes zorgde voor een stijging van de bloedplaatjes naar 12. Ook was zijn bloedsuiker te hoog, dus is er extra insuline toegediend.
Gelukkig krijgt Dolf er weinig van mee en we zijn weer een dag doorgeworsteld.
Dit dagverslag is wat laat gepost vanwege wifi-problemen in het UMCU. We mochten blijven slapen in het ziekenhuis (familie-kamer Intensive Care).

Not so sure this kind of event really gives defenders much to show off other than athleticism and some 1v1 defending. Defending effectively, I think, is about good decision-making which must be in sync with your teammates. This sort of event does not give much time to develop good understanding among the defenders that serves to make it easier for the attackers. It is not so surprising the attackers could look good.

The issues with food seem to be getting worse. We are at the point of not eating certain things even when we are at a relative’s home for dinner. Not only does store bought food not taste good, it kind of makes my skin crawl just thinking about were it came from. We are lucky though to have a restaurant about 15 minutes away that only serves local organic food!
I’ve read some good stuff here. Certainly worth bookmarking for revisiting. I wonder how much effort you put to make such a magnificent informative website.

I took my parents there when they were visiting a couple of years ago. Also been there for meetings with the Oxford Vegans group.My other favourite eating places in Oxford are The Nosebag and The Royal Blenheim pub, both have at least one vegan option every day. (I’d recommend the Gardeners Arms for their vegan beer though.)Karl Reply

Fairy tales certainly have evolved over time, and I don’t think versions targeted toward children are problematic–it’s just that there’s so much for adults to connect with also, especially in the early versions of the stories. I agree with you that there’s an attraction to worlds unknown, but I don’t think the notion that good always overcomes evil is a false impression. Yes, we suffer and we encounter situations where evil seems to have the upper hand, but I believe in the end, good wins.

Donald MacKenzie talks about this in An Engine, Not a Camera. Actually, he mostly speaks about how LTCM’s positions got widely imitated and those positions did worse than other similar positions — they were bad just because LTCM and a host of imitators owned them, and everyone tried to get out the door at once. "Conglomerate rocks" are by definition formed by sedimentary processes. I agree that the specimen in question also appears to have some igneous/volcanic components. If you want an accordion on the front end in your theme you can enqueue jQuery shipped with WordPress, then enqueue the jQuery UI library from Google’s CDN. Make sure you enqueue it with jQuery as a dependency, and only on front end pages. Then you should be good to go!

I don’t see how a person can be totally original. I don’t think I have ever invented a blog without at least having experiences that I share with thousands of people. In the process of learning new things, I have had to research them and used my research to try to come up with a different way of saying the same thing. I suppose some people are so original or creative that they do come up with something new under the sun, but more than likely they just have a new way of stating something old.
