Afstoting/Graft.
Alweer een berichtje van mij? Binnen 4 dagen? Dat kan niet echt goed zijn, en dat is het ook niet. De afstoting, Graft genoemd, en de grootste complicatie na een stamceltransplantatie (Graft v Host), neemt toe. In oktober Graft aan mijn huid, in januari in mijn mond. Maandag kreeg ik last van mijn linker oog en het oogwit werd rood doorlopen. Normaal als je niet ziek bent, denk je “er zit een vuiltje in of het is licht ontstoken, gaat morgen wel weer over“. Na een stamceltransplantatie en met de nodige afstoting ben je heel alert (en angstig). Gisteren dus direct contact opgenomen met de hematoloog. We hoefden niet langs te komen want uit mijn telefonische beschrijving kon hij al afleiden dat dit hoogst waarschijnlijk ook Graft is. Het geïrriteerde oog, de Graft in mijn mond en op mijn rug, en mijn leverwaarden die nog slecht zijn (indicatie voor mogelijke Graft aan de lever) maken het noodzakelijk om de komende week een verhoogde hoeveelheid prednison te nemen (60mg per dag). Hopelijk gaat dit snel werken en brengt het de Graft tot stilstand. Gelukkig hoef ik (nog) niet opnieuw te beginnen met de ciclosporine (Neoral). Bij gebruik van dit middel gelden direct ook de strenge richtlijnen voor voeding, omdat dan ook mijn weerstand weer omlaag gaat.
Fijne bijkomstigheid van verhoging van de prednison dosis is wel dat ik verwacht dat door dit medicijn mijn energie zal toenemen. Over een week weer contact opnemen met de hematoloog (of eerder als het erger wordt) en dan bepalen we hoe we verder gaan.
